What are my goals for this blog

Blogging doesn’t come naturally to me. I’m introverted, analytical, and writing feels slow. What began as self-improvement led to a simple truth: this blog also supports what I’m building. Reflection and creating Finluency aren’t competing goals. They’re the same work.

I queued this post up in Fizzy five days ago, and I sat down with the card yesterday to figure out what I want to achieve with this blog, because blogging doesn't come easily to me. I am a relatively introverted, shy, and analytical-minded individual who finds writing a bit laborious, so I figured I needed a decent reason to do it. Otherwise, why not just spend the time and effort doing something that I enjoy, like working on Finluency's product? So, after reflecting for a few minutes, I boiled it down to two main objectives:

  1. Self-improvement
  2. Generate interest in Finluency

When I started the reflection, I wrote down the first objective:

  • Improve my writing skills
    • Quality
    • Qauntity

Then I followed it with

  • To think deeper on topics

I was on my way to having no ulterior motives. This blog was for self-growth, reflection, and improving analytical skills via deep thinking and regurgitation of thoughts. Seldom have I written down what I have been noodling over, and hardly ever have I done it for public consumption.

Then I followed up those with the next three objectives:

  • Founder Lead Marketing (?)
  • To create helfpful content (Not Really -- Yes it is)
  • To grow an audience (as more of a side effect)

As I started to write those, I remembered the entire point of starting this blog was to engage in founder-led marketing for Finluency; however, as I wrote, I tried to stay altruistic, hence the comments in parentheses. I was attempting to downplay my desire for this blog to become a marketing platform. An idea I was entertaining, until I sat down and hammered out the first paragraph of this post. It was then that I realized that there is absolutely nothing wrong with wanting my writing to help grow Finluency. It was the whole reason I started this blog in the first place.

So, my goals for this blog are:

  1. To improve the quality of my writing
  2. To write more
  3. To use writing as a means to think deeper on topics
  4. To create useful content for others
  5. To promote Finluency

That's it. Those are my whys.
